Thirty Journalism students trained in Multimedia storytelling and digital skills
A group of thirty selected Journalism students at Uganda Pentecostal University (UPU) underwent a nine-day training and mentorship in Multimedia Journalism. The training, supported by the U.S Mission Uganda commenced from April 3rd- 21st 2023. From April 3rd-6th, students underwent skills sessions facilitated online by a team of facilitators from Ultimate Multimedia Consult (UMC). This was followed by mentorship into publishing multimedia stories from April 17th-21st 2023.

Mentorship for publication of multimedia stories
Students were mentored by the team from UMC to publish multimedia stories from the Uganda Pentecostal University premises. Students began by pitching their story ideas which were later refined into ideas that can be well developed into multimedia stories.

Selection of multimedia story award winners
Fifteen students who pitched story ideas were funded and guided for 3 days to publish their multimedia story ideas. On 21st April 2023, a team of 5 judges from UMC and UPU reviewed all stories and listened to each students elaborate the process they went through to publish the story. After careful selection and review 4 students were awarded 2 (Male & Female) Best Multimedia Story, 2 (Runners-up) Best Multimedia Story
